The Process
The design process for Eat Mubarak, a food delivery service, revolved around creating a visually engaging yet functional interface that reflects the brand's vibrant identity and user-friendly ethos. The centerpiece of the design was crafting distinctive icons for food categories, ensuring they were both intuitive and culturally resonant.
The app’s initial layout was designed to prioritize ease of navigation and user engagement. The home screen featured prominently placed food categories, complemented by a clean, card-based layout for popular restaurant listings.
A neutral background ensured the icons and vibrant food imagery stood out.
The Icons
I opted for a flat design style with bold, cheerful colors that align with the app's lively branding. Each icon was designed to represent a specific food category, such as, burgers, steaks and traditional cuisine, using simple, recognizable visuals. I incorporated subtle cultural elements in certain categories to appeal to the local audience, blending universal clarity with a regional touch.
